Hair Care/ Routine

In my books hair is just as important as skin, so why people don't take care of it I will never know!
Just over a year ago I set my self a challenge to go a week with out using heat on my hair that meant no hair dryers, curlers and straighteners. And that's when I realised that my hair was naturally straight and using straighteners everyday was silly!

I don't use a specific shampoo (although I love John Frieda and Lushs Big), I just tend to grab what ever is there. I have found that if I use a certain shampoo for long periods of time, my hair tends to build a resistance to it and I don't see results.

The conditioners I use are Lush American Cream which smells amazing, and Aussie 3 minute miracle deep treatment which I would use if my hair was feeling especially dry or if I knew I was going to use heat on my hair just to give it an extra dose of moisture.
I don't like to use much product on hair after I wash it so this is all I use.
Tresemme De tangle Leave in Conditioner helps to get rid of the knots, as over brushing and tugging on the hair can cause breakage and split ends.
And one of the most important products in hair care, heat protectant. I use Tresemme Heat Defence when ever I use heat, whether its straighteners or a hair dryer.

And the final two. To keep my hair from going frizzy without the use of heat I use a styling wax or gum when my hair is wet, I use Toni and Guy Funky Gum. Batiste is great for the days in between washes, and also adds volume and texture without the need for backcombing which also is very damaging to hair.

And one more tip,
every night I put my hair in a high bun to prevent huge knots!

So I think that's everything! Thanks for reading.
Any questions, leave them below.

M.I.A Much?

Just a quick post, with the nail polish I picked up the other day in Sally's. I got OPI Nantucket Mist, proberbly because it had been reduced, but it is a really nice colour. I have to say its not the most original colour, a pinky/coral but for £3.72 I cant complain!

Love,
Jess.

Nails Inc.

Hello Lovelys,
Thought I would write a quick post for you :). A couple of weeks ago I took advantage of the Diet coke/ nail polish promotion, I walked out of Boots, proud as punch, with these two polishes...

* Paris, London*
Paris is a plum colour, not the most original colour but I don't have anything similar. The consistency is thin, but not impossible to work with although this was the worst of the two.

London is a taupe/ beige colour. Of all four this is defiantly the most unique, but again the consistency is thin. One thing I have add is that I found this polish chipped terribly :(.
But I cant really complain, when there free!
Hope everyone is enjoying the weather? I know I am, but some of use not so much ^^, bless :).

Lots of Love

To the beach I go...

..I wish.

I'm really pleased with everything I got in my latest haul.

The one item i was most happy about was the lipstick, I got it in the colour 'Lazy Day', which is a light pink with a subtle hint of grey, it sounds disgusting but I really like it. Its a Lustre finish so its sheer but very build able, Oh and did I forget to mention the packaging is adorable!

*'Lazy Day' with flash*

The last item I got from the collection where the 'Lustre Drops in Pink rebel', its a multi-purpose product to add shimmer to any liquid product. Pink rebel is a peachy/ pink with gold shimmer.

This is what I think of as one of the 'cult' Mac products, Underage lipglass. It is a milky, soft pink with minimal shimmer. Its a lipglass, so its pretty sticky in texture but lasts a while on the lips.

Bare Study Paint Pot, is a creamy, shimmery, champagne eye base. I find this product works far better than UDPP, I've actual worn this by its self for the past few days and it is a quick and easy way to add a splash of colour.

*Swatches: Pink Rebel, Lazy Day, Underage and Bare Study*

Did you get anything from the latest collection?

Grubby little mitts

Remeber me?

I see a pattern emerging lately all recent posts starts with 'sorry its been a while'.

But now my art exam is done, yay! But i have a whole month ahead of me jam packed with exams :(.

Anyways this is a quick review post.

Iv used fake tan, mostly St. Moritz for a while. Iv tried to find the perfect way to apply it, first it was bare hands, the a rubber glove, then a *hangs head in shame* a sock :) and now the Soltan Self tan Mit.

The mitt it self has a velvet finish, and is coated in plastic on the back (in the picture) which stops the mitt moving when, applying the fake tan. I find that when I use the mitt is applys the fake tan evenly and buffs it in. This mitt costs around £2-3, I was talking to a shop assistant in boots told me it was there best seller, far better that the St. Tropez Mitt which is made from a towel material.

Do you have any requests for posts? Has any one else tried the St. Tropez mitt?

Love

My Everyday Makeup, contest entry.

This is my contest entry to Lorraine at "TheCurrentCustom", for my everyday makeup.

Face products.

First I use a face primer, BareVitamins Skin Rev-er upper (not pictured), then I use Dior Forever Foundation with a foundation brush, next I use the Mac select cover up concealer with the BareMinerals concealer brush and then with a Mac 181se brush DiorSkin Nude over my t-zone.

I fill in my brows using the Urban Decay Brow Box.

I contour using Loreal Glam Bronze Duo in Blonde Harmony.

And the blush iv been using recently is well dressed, and highlighter in shell pearl beauty powder both by Mac.

*Mac 181se, for powder. BareEssentials Concealer brush. Jelly Pong Pong brush for contouring. Ruby and Milly foundation brush. And an unknown powder brush for blush.*
First I use UDPP all over my lid, I put UD Sell out on my inner corner and inner 3rd, with the same brush I put Mac style snob on the outer 2 3rds and then with a 217 I put UD Mushroom in the crease and outer corner. I use a cream shadow to blend everything with a 224, and finally to highlight I use Prestige get loose eyeshadow in jump blended with a 224.
I use Blacktrack fluid line to line my eyes, Urban Decay eyeliner in zero on the waterline, eyelash curlers and Max Factor False Lash Effect mascara.

*Mac 224, Mac 217, Be never to busy to be beautiful eyeshadow brush, and a Ruby and Milly angled eyeliner brush.*

And finally I apply a lip balm, I used Carmex and then what ever lipstick I'm wearing that day.

So sorry this is such a long post! My friend always says for someone who wears so much makeup I look like I'm wearing hardly any!

Thanks For reading.

Products Im loving right now!

Hello,
Feels like ages since Iv written anything (probably because it is!)

First thing I'm loving, 2 cheek products. MAC well dressed blush, I don't know why I didn't buy this sooner! It gives the cheeks a nice flush of colour without to much work, i.e a slap on and go product :). Next Mac Shell Pearl beauty powder, Iv been reaching alot for this product and I don't usually wear highlighter on a regular basis.
Now seeing as its going to be summer soon, I thought I would break out the bright-summer colours. Mac Made with love, this was released last year in the colour crafted collection, it is a bright sheer coral/pink. It looks lovely dabbed on the lips.

Love it or Hate it. I love it! And its back on are screens tonight (19th) yay! I missed the first several episodes so bought my self half of season 1, to catch up.

So where have I been, well its exam season and I've been trying to cram in coursework and as much revision as possible (this isn't what I'm loving right now!). Art has been taking over my life for ages and now Spanish as crept up on me as well! My first art exam is this Thursday, wish me luck!

I'm hoping to pre-write several blog posts, and upload them gradually!

Love Jess x
